My Home Life

What is My Home Life?

My Home Life is a collaborative programme aimed at improving the quality of life of those who are living, dying, visiting and working in care homes for older people.

Working in partnership with the care home sector, My Home Life is undertaking a range of educational activities to assist everyone in this field to share best practice and enhance quality of care.

What is the My Home Life vision?

A pioneering vision of care homes for the 21st century based on eight best practice themes.

How is My Home Life supporting care homes?

My Home Life wants to celebrate and build upon the good practice that already exists in care homes and value a sector that does not always get the recognition it deserves.

Over the next few years we will be sharing best practice, developing resources and linking with initiatives to support your work.

Who is leading the My Home Life programme?

My Home Life is led by Help the Aged in partnership with the National Care Forum and City University. It is a collaborative scheme bringing together organisations which reflect the interests of care home providers, commissioners, regulators, care home residents and relatives and those interested in education, research and practice development.

The My Home Life team are:

  • Executive Director – Professor Julienne Meyer
  • Director – Tom Owen
  • Programme Administrator Jo Edler
